A MURDER charge has already been filed by the police against a suspected drug addict who stabbed his live-in partner in Bukidnon over the weekend.
Police Maj. Patrick Castro, Don Carlos Police Station commander, identified the suspect as Elson Erap Jamisula, 27, unemployed, and residing at Purok 9, Poblacion Sur of the said town.
While the victim was identified as Kemberly Achas, 22 of the same place. She was a 3rd-year college student at Don Carlos Polytechnic State College.
It can be recalled that prior to the killing, the couple had a heated argument.
The said altercation became bloody when Jamisola smashed the table glass and used its shards to stab the victim.
In a closed-circuit television clip that became viral on social media, the suspect had been seen repeatedly thrusting the sharp shards into Achas.
Neighbors who observed the commotion inside the residence of Bobong Jamisola (the suspect’s uncle) immediately called up the police.
Responding authorities found the victim already bathing in her own blood. She was rushed to the nearest hospital where she was declared dead upon arrival.
The suspect, who attempted to escape after the incident, was arrested after he was cornered while hiding at the back of the said house.
"Di gyud ko makatoo hangtud karon nganong misangpot sa akong pinalanggang anak ang maong panghitabo," Rodulfo Achas, father of the victim, said.
He said his daughter had begged him to finish her studies in college so she could apply for a job for the future of her only child.
"Pero subo lang kay wala na gyud niya naabtan ang maong higayon kay patay na siya," the father told reporters in between sobs.
At the jail, Jamisola became remorseful that he banged his head several times on the wall.
According to the police they have to put on a motorcycle helmet for the suspect for his own protection.
The suspect is now temporarily detained at the said police headquarters.
