A TOTAL of 82 individuals were apprehended for various violations. While 30 motorcycles and three vehicles were also impounded during the implementation of checkpoint Operations in the western part of Misamis Oriental Wednesday.
Dubbed as One-Time Big-Time Operation, Police Col. Mardy Hortillosa ll, Force Commander, 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company expressed, that their unit had just complied the directive from the higher headquarters to implement the operation in relation to Comelec checkpoint.
“The purpose is to deter the movement of any firearm, prevent the spread of the virus, and implement traffic rules and regulations,” Hortillosa said.
Among the 82 individual violators, Hortillosa said, 11 were violating the other ordinances, 52 violated the traffic ordinance of which the drivers were issued by a Traffic Citation Ticket, and 10 had violated the Minimum Health Standard Protocol.
All the drivers were given an Ordinance Violation Receipt while the impounded motorcycles and vehicles will be turned over to the Land Transportation Office for verification.
The said operations were conducted at Barangay Poblacion, Manticao of the said province.
“We would like to warn again our road users to refrain from using their vehicles or motorcycles without drivers license, OR/CR, and plate number to prevent possible (impounding) of their units,” Hortillosa said.
