TWO suspected drug pushers were arrested in separate buy-bust police operations in Cagayan de Oro, over the weekend.
Police Col. Aaron Mandia, Cagayan de Oro City Police Office director, identified the suspects as Andy Fortun alias ‘Lolong,’ 35, and a resident of Zone 6, Zayas, Barangay Carmen, this city, and Rodel Gaabucayan, 37, businessman, and residing at Barangay Kiliog, Libona, Bukidnon.
The two suspects were nabbed by operatives assigned at Police Station number 3 in Agora led by Police Capt. Ernesto Miranda and personnel from the City Intelligence Unit under the supervision of Police Lt. Col. Harvey Abellanosa within a span of two hours.
Fortun, who was arrested at 6:35 pm near his house at Zone 6, Zayas, Barangay Carmen of the same city, yielded 11 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu with an estimated street value of P39,000 including the P500 buy-bust money.
Police also found in his possession a .38 caliber revolver with serial no. 1871917 without bullets, and some personal belongings.
Two hours later the same group rounded up Gaabucayan at Valenzuela St. in Barangay Lapasan.
Seized from the suspect were 11 sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu with an estimated street value of P7,300 including the P500 buy-bust money.
The suspects are temporarily detained at the Agora police station mini-cell pending the filing of charges.
