FOR selling gasoline illegally, a 38-year-old Iligan city resident is now behind bars.
Iligan City Police Office (ICPO) Director Dominador Estrada, identified the suspect as Ruel Camoro, married, and a resident of Purok 6, Upper Tominobo of the said city.
Authorities caught him in the act of selling petroleum products while at Barangay Upper Tominobo of the same city at about 12:20 pm last Thursday.
Iligan police operatives led by Police Lt. Sedrix Mag-abo were able to confiscate
21 liters bottle filled with gasoline and two empty five-gallon plastic containers.
Upon further verification, it was learned that the suspect has no authority to sell the said products from the Department of Energy.
Police said the suspect, who is now under the custody of Police Station 2 of Iligan, will be facing charges in violation of Presidential Decree 1865 Amending Batas Pambansa Bldg. 33, known as “an act defining and penalizing certain prohibited acts inimical to the public interests and national security involving petroleum and/or petroleum products.”
