A total of P402,500 worth of shabu and marijuana ]were seized from the three suspects during a buy-bust operation yesterday morning.
Police Col. Jun Mark Lagare, Bukidnon Provincial Director, identified the suspects as Mangontawar Cota alias ‘Unga,’ 47, married; his live-in partner Meindo Torres, 45, married; and Jamael Cota, 40, married, all residing at Sitio Potaon Barangay Malinao, Kalilangan of the said province.
Recovered from them were a medium-sized heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing more or less 50 grams of a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P340,000; 60 pieces cut stalks of dried marijuana leaves weighing more or less 500 grams with an estimated standard drug price of P62,500; a P1,000 bill; and some personal belongings.
In a police report, it was learned that the suspects were arrested by personnel from Kalilangan Municipal Police Station led by Police Capt. Merlin Macawili together with Provincial Drug Enforcement Group, Special Operation Unit-10, Regional Drug Enforcement Unit-10, Police Drug Enforcement Unit in Bukidnon, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Administration-10 at the place of the suspects at about 6:45 am.
All the suspects are now under the temporary custody of Kalilangan police while the confiscated pieces of evidence are under the custody of authorities.
