By NITZ ARANCON Correspondent BUSINESSMAN Gonzalo Go Jr. has asked city hall to allow him to operate a casino near Limketkai center in Lapasan, Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin Uy revealed yesterday. Go’s application is the second to be sent to the city council this year. “Karon lang simaha siya nag-apply,” said Uy. Go, a brother of Barangay 22 chair Gigi Go, has proposed a casino site near the target range in Lapasan, near Limketkai center. The Limketkai and Sons Inc. earlier asked city hall’s permission to open a casino within its commercial property in Lapasan, a plan that sparked a strong opposition among mostly religious groups in the city. Uy said Go’s application would have to wait because there were more pressing concerns in the city council. But Uy said the city council would tackle Go’s application, and the proposal would undergo proper local government processes. Like the Limketkai group’s application, Uy said Go’s application would be discussed by the city council as a committee of the whole.
