IN a process to streamline government processes, transparency, and accountability, agriculture officials in northern Mindanao met the team from the Commission of Audit (COA) for an entrance conference audit on November 5, 2020.
In a press statement Sunday, the team members from the COA regional office and DA-10 officials conducted a conference audit for calendar year 2020.
DA-10 executive regional director Carlene Collado said the meeting of the two agencies was arranged to perform an audit of the department’s accounting records and financial statements.
“The entrance conference audit is to uphold the highest standards of public service,” said Collado.
Led by Collado, they met the Audit Team headed by its Regional Supervising Auditor Josie J. Rodriguez and State Auditor II and Acting Audit Team Leader (ATL) Nashiba L. Macaraob.
Collado said following the Philippine public sector accounting standards, the DA-RFO 10 presented its financial position, financial performance, and cash flows.
Discussed during the conference were the objectives, focus, and limitations of the audit, including the responsibilities of the auditors and the management.
“We are here as your partners to support the agency on its aim to give exceptional service to farmers and fisherfolk along with good governance through transparency and accountability,” said Rodriguez.
She added, the mark they can give to the agency is set forth on the requirements relevant to the audit of financial statements.
