A 43-year-old father and his two-year-old baby were killed when the concrete wall of their house collapsed at 4 am yesterday morning.
Police Chief Master Sgt. Edison Ucat Talisayan Municipal Police Station head, identified the victims as Kent Ian Pelaez, 43, and his daughter Kia Andrea Pelaez, residing at D-2, Barangay San Jose, Talisayan in Misamis Oriental.
In a police report, it was learned that it was the neighbors of the victims who were the first to respond to the incident when they heard a very loud noise coming from inside the residence of the latter.
They told police that it was the north side wall of the house that fell down where the Pelaez’ were sleeping.
Rescue teams fromTalisayan Local Government Unit, Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP), and other concerned individuals responded to the area.
They then started removing the debris to retrieve the victims and pulled them one by one.
They rushed the victims to the Misamis Oriental Provincial Hospital only to be pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.
