NORTHERN Mindanao interior and local government department (DILG -10) has recognized Philippine Councilors League (PCL) Region-10 chairperson George S. Goking for consistent support for the DILG during Covid-19 and the Typhoon Odette response, in an in-person awarding ceremony recently.
Notable local government units or individuals were hailed for advancing the whole-of-government approach to ensure the balance between public health and economy.
“We are grateful for consistent support of our Region 10 PCL Chairperson, Councilor George Goking to DILG offices,” said DILG 10 Regional Director Arnel M. Agabe, adding, especially for extending Goking’s support not only to Northern Mindanao, but also to other Regions of the country.
It can be recalled that during the onslaught of the Typhoon Odette, several employees of the DILG were severely affected of such, according to Agabe.
“Through the help of Councilor Goking, several food packs were provided to them,” said Agabe.
Among these efforts, Agabe also noted that at the start of the pandemic, Goking also supported DILG 10 in extending humanitarian assistance to returning residents and stranded individuals.
Earlier, the DILG truly its implementation was a game-changer in the attempt to live with the virus in our midst., and since then the DILG retain accomplished a major leap of victory.
Also the DILG officials nationwide recently expressed their gratitude to all LGUs participated, private stakeholders, and even the public for their active engagement in the country’s vaccination drive.
Agabe expressed its gratitude to PCL Region 10 Chair Councilor Goking, through a plaque of recognition, for the support he extended to the personnel of DILG Regions VIII and XIII who were victims of Typhoon Odette last December 2021. (Ben Balce)
