PRESIDENT Duterte is scheduled to be in the city today for the switch-on of Mindanao’s largest power plant.
Duterte would inaugurate the new power plant of the FDC-Misamis Power Corp. of the Filinvest Group in Villanueva, Misamis Oriental.
In July, the first unit of the 405-mw power plant was successfully synchronized to the Mindanao grid.
Juan Eugenio Roxas, FDC Misamis head, earlier said the new power plant would help ensure the supply of reliable and competitively priced power in this part of the country.
After the inauguration, Duterte is then expected to proceed to Camp Alagar this afternoon to preside over a command conference, said Supt. Surki Sereñas, police spokesman for northern Mindanao. (nitz arancon)
