A SENIOR citizen who was arrested last Wednesday for estafa cases was ordered by a court to pay almost half a million pesos for her temporary liberty.
Police Col. Reinante delos Santos, Acting Iligan City Police Director, identified the suspect as 61-year-old Esterlita Laguada, married, a utility maintenance worker at Iligan City assigned at Economic Enterprise Development Management Office (EEDMO), and a resident of Purok 12H, Bayanihan Village, Barangay Sta. Elena, of the said city.
She was arrested by elements of the tracker team led by Police Capt. Vladimir Tenorio, Intelligence Officer by virtue of a warrant of arrest.
Judge Orlando Carmona-Gallardo of the Municipal Trial Circuit Court-Branch II in Iligan City, recommended Laguada put up a bail bond of P18,000 for each of the 25 counts or P450,000.00
The suspect is now temporarily under the custody of the said police officer pending the return of the warrant and the presentation of the said individual to the issuing court.
