A farmer was shot dead in Barangay Aposkahoy in Claveria town last Saturday, March 29, after refusing to give money to a drunk man, authorities said.

The incident occurred at 3:30 pm in San Roque, Barangay Aposkahoy. The victim was identified as Reynaldo Campaña, a single farmer residing in Aposkahoy.
According to witness Sulpicio Halasan, 79, he and Campaña were playing ‘dama’ at Halasan’s store when gunshots rang out.
Campaña collapsed to the ground and was rushed to Claveria Misamis Oriental Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival due to multiple gunshot wounds.
The suspect, identified as Antonio Abog, also a farmer from Sitio Pulang Yuta in the same barangay, fled the scene on foot.
Witnesses reported that Abog, who was intoxicated, attempted to extort money from Campaña. When the victim refused, Abog allegedly shot him.
The PNP Scene of the Crime Operatives discovered eight empty .22 caliber rifle cartridges at the crime scene. Authorities are currently conducting a manhunt to apprehend the suspect.
