FIRE struck and destroyed at least five houses and damaging two others at Signal Hills in Zone 5, Barangay Patag, before the light of day yesterday.
Authorities said the fire broke out at around 3:47 am. Initial damages were placed at some P1.5 million, said SFO2 Dennis Dales.
Dales said the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) declared a “fire out” at around 4:40 am.
No one was reported hurt.
Dales said initial investigation point to a house owned by the Quijano family as the place where the fire started.
He said the fire quickly spread because the houses were mostly made of highly combustible materials. (nitz arancon)
