CAGAYAN de Oro City Councilor George Goking is among to receive the “Gawad sa Kaunlaran” award to be given by the Philippine Air Force (PAF) Command during its 75th Founding Anniversary on May 25, 2022.
The award to be received by Goking, an Air Force 71st AGRG reservist, who has the ranked of Captain, is in recognition for his meritorious and valuable achievement that he contributed to the development of the PAF and the well-being of its members.
“I am extending my gratitude to the PAF for the award,” said Goking.
We will receive the award during recognition day to be presided by the PAF commanding general himself, according to Goking.
In a statement, the PAF will recognize the awardees whom they will be requiring to wear on their smart general office uniform during the conduct of the activity.
In the event of disaster or calamities, PAF said the reservist Goking continue executing his function to serve and support the PAF for national security and the socio-economic development efforts amid these challenging times brought by the Covid-19 pandemic.
It said “Gawad sa Kaunlaran” award is to be given to Goking for his meritorious and invaluable achievements in the pursuit of socioeconomic and other non-combatant activities.
This is also to formally recognize Goking’s active participation, innovative actions, and humanitarian service not only in region 10 but also in the Caraga region and some parts in the Visayas during the pandemic and the recent calamities like the Typhoon Odette, it said.
The PAF has lauded the reservists for endless help not only as reservist but also as one of city government officials.
"Gawad sa Kaunlaran,” award is the second highest distinction presented by the Armed Forces of the Philippines to civilians and government officials.
