CITY Council Trade and Commerce committee chair George Goking on Monday reiterated that the Department of Trade and Industry had no kind words for online sellers that are not disclose about prices of goods they are selling.

“Online sellers are always reminded by the DTI to disclose prices of their respective products to their consumers,” said Goking.

Goking said DTI has issued a meme-like graphic suggesting sellers who ask potential customers to send personal messages instead of displaying prices are “evil.”

He said that even on the a DTI's Facebook page, it continuously reminding sellers to be transparent to the public online.

A regional office of the DTI according to Goking said that online sellers should make their transactions “smooth” as possible by displaying the prices on the platform.

“This is mandated by Republic Act 7394 or the Consumer Act of the Philippines,” said Goking.

“PM SENT” is not cool in online selling, according to Goking.

“Make your transaction smooth so put the price of the product you are selling, ” said Goking.

He said that if the prices are not displayed, typically interested buyers would comment “HM po?” or “How much pop?”

"RA 7394 states that it is illegal to sell any product without a proper price tag, label or price marking of the product,” Goking added. (Ben Balce)
