AUTHORITIES are now looking for the suspect in the shooting and killing of a 68-year-old lot caretaker at Barangay Cugman last night.

Police Maj. Rutherford Ondin, Police Station 10 commander, identified the victim as Aurelio Jabiniao, a resident of Zone 7, Lower Malasag of the said barangay.

The incident, Ondin said, was estimated to have occurred at 4 pm.

The victim was found by his son lying on grassy ground and bloody due to a gunshot wound in the head from a still unknown caliber.

Cherry, the victim’s daughter told reporters, that her father came from station 10 headquarters early in the afternoon to file a complaint against a certain Dondon Mama, a neighbor.

Ikaduha na to nga nagpa blotter akong papa batuk kang Dondon (Mama). Kadtong una napreso gyud siya pero gipasaylo ra pud sa akong papa,” Cherry said.

He said the first complaint was when Mama threatened the victim with an airgun.

Last night when police went to the house of Mama but the latter has already left his residence.

Ondin said they will conduct a thorough investigation on who is really responsible for the incident and the possible identification of the gunman.

He said it is better if Mama will surface so he could shed light on the incident. He clarified that the police has not yet considered him a suspect.
