A 24-year-old bystander has been shot to death by a still unidentified gunman yesterday afternoon.
Police Lt. Rodel Labadan, Balingasag Police Station head, identified the victim as Jay Cabiling, single, and a resident of Sitio Mantugbong, Barangay Waterfall of the said town in Misamis Oriental.
Police are currently on a manhunt for the suspect.
In a police report, it was learned that prior to the incident the victim was with three other drinking buddies in one of the stores in the area at about 6:15 pm.
Suddenly, a motorcycle-riding suspect arrived and without a word shot Cabiling several times hitting him in the different parts of his body.
People who were present in the area rushed the victim to Misamis Oriental Provincial Hospital-Balingasag but only to be pronounced dead by his attending physician.
Responding police officers found three empty cartridges of a .45 caliber pistol.
