A 28-year-old college student in Iligan City is now in jail after he was arrested for illegal possession of drugs early this morning.

Police Col. Dominador Estrada, the city’s police director, identified the suspect as Remar Vayson, single, and residing at Purok 1A, Merila, Barangay Ubaldo Laya of the said city.

Police did not mention what school the suspect is studying at.

A joint operation composed of Iligan police station 4 led by Capt. Reiner Escalante and the city’s Mobile Force Company led by Police Corporal Euxine Irr Alia arrested the suspect at the said barangay at 1:19 am, Friday.

Confiscated from the suspect were three sachets containing suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P9, 600; Two large size unsealed transparent plastic sachets containing residues of a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, five empty rectangular sizes unsealed transparent plastic sachets, a P200 cash, a mobile phone, and some drug paraphernalia.

A motorcycle (Yamaha NMAX 155 color gray and black) used by the suspect was also taken by the operating team.

All the confiscated drugs were brought to Iligan City Forensic Unit for further examination.
