THREE students in Iligan City and their companion were arrested for illegal possession of a firearm and bladed weapons, yesterday at 2 pm.

Iligan City Police Director Dominador Estrada identified the students as Mark Ian Recomendacion, 18; Caryl Recomendacion, 19; and Xyrhylle Anthony Tugahan, 18, all residents of Greenhills, Barangay Suarez of the said city.

They are currently studying at one of the high schools in the city.

Also arrested was Gerald Torreon, 22, single, unemployed, and a resident of Uranus St. of the said barangay.

All the suspects were arrested by members of the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams for being involved in a riot at the said barangay.

Seized from them were a .38 caliber revolver loaded with three bullets, and two kitchen and butterfly knives.

The suspects are temporarily detained at the said police station for a case filing in violation of Republic Act 10591 or illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, and illegal possession of bladed weapons.
