AN Iligan police chief investigator was shot dead by motorcycle-riding gunmen, Tuesday, this week.
Police Col. Dominador Estrada, Iligan City Police Office Director, identified the victim as Police Senior Master Sgt. Ruel Vacal. He was assigned to Police Station 4.
A police report revealed, that the incident happened at Purok Violeta Orellana, Tubod of the said city at 2 pm.
It was learned that the victim was heading for home when he was flagged down by the suspects who were riding a Honda XRM with an unknown plate number
One of the men then shot Vacal three times in the abdomen which caused the latter to drop to the ground bloody and became unconscious.
After the shooting, the suspects hurriedly fled the area in an unknown direction.
The victim was rushed to Mercy hospital only to be declared dead upon arrival by an attending physician Dr. Darryl Limsiaco.
Estrada, who was saddened by the news, immediately ordered police to station 4 for a no-nonsense investigation.
They were told to coordinate with the victim's family and relatives to get more information in relation to the said incident.
