PAVING opportunities for Micro Small Medium Enterprise (MSME) entrepreneurs is the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) opening of more "One Town, One Product Philippines" (OTOP.Ph) Hub in Bukidnon to push quality products and services rooted in local culture into the market.
DTI 10 regional director Linda Boniao graced the launching of OTOP Hub Malaybalay with Lorielinda Bella Marte of the Tagolwanen Women Weavers Association (TWWA) Enterprise, the cooperator of the Pasalubong Center.
With Boniao were DTI Bukidnon together with local government units officials opened on Thursday the OTOP Philippines Hub Ph or the “Golden Harvest Pasalubong Center” located in front of New Bus Terminal in Hagkol, Valencia City.
The OTOP Hub is a market platform for the MSMEs to develop and promote products or services rooted in the local culture and competitive advantage of the region.
Earlier, Boniao said their target is for every province in northern Mindanao to have an OTOP.Ph Hub.
She said that they can have an exchange of products from one province to another, and balikbayans or travelers will have a one-stop shop where they could easily buy locally made goods.
Through OTOP.Ph Hubs, DTI and local government units with private partners and associations or cooperatives embarked in transforming pasalubong centers and souvenir shops all over the country as a market access platform for mainstream consumers and buyers.

The launching of “OTOP Hub Ph” or the “Malaybalay City Pasalubong Center” is situated in front of Navarette Sports Complex in Malaybalay, the province’s capital city.
OTOP Hub Valencia and OTOP Hub Malaybalay are the 4th and 5th OTOP Hubs of region 10.
The newly opened one-stop ‘Pasalubong Centers’ house the best of the province’s quality products such as souvenir items, processed food, health and wellness products, gifts and decors, fashion accessories, wearables, and home furnishing.
Amidst the pandemic, it is expected to boost the production of local products and continue to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as it aims to cater not only the general market of local buyers but also tourists and international market. (Recthie Tolinero/DTI 10/PIA Bukidnon)
