IN her first speech as Misamis Oriental governor, Juliette Uy asked for the cooperation of Vice Gov. Jeremy Jonahmar ‘Jigjag’ Pelaez and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Members, who were absent from Uy’s inaugural program today, July 1.
During the program, Uy highlighted the programs and projects she plans to continue for the province.
She noted the absence of Pelaez and other provincial board members, stating that “the election was done and it’s now time to work.”
She reminded everyone that their wages come from the people and they “have to accept that they have a new boss.”
“Naa pa gyud kita’y color kay wala sila gitunga,” Uy said.
She appealed to Pelaez and the provincial board members for their cooperation.
Uy said she would leave it to God “to whisper to Pelaez and the board that it’s now time to work.”
“Vice Jigjag, SP members, hinaot mag hunahuna kamo karon kay wala kamo sa pwesto kung wala ang pagsalig sa Misamis Oriental,” Uy reminded them.
She emphasized that they do not need to like her personally but should follow their conscience.
“You don’t have to like me personally, open your mind to serve,” the new governor said.
