RESPONDING to the diverse needs of the community, Mayor Rolando 'Klarex' Uy facilitated another successful session of the 'People's Day' program on Wednesday, July 24, at the City Tourism Hall.
Sheila Lumbatan, the Chief of Staff at the City Mayor's office, highlighted the significance of this initiative in addressing the concerns of the residents.
During the event, Mayor Klarex Uy personally attended to 1,065 individuals alongside the dedicated local government personnel, according to Lumbatan.
'People's Day' has become a regular fixture in the mayor's schedule, providing a platform for constituents to voice their issues, whether personal, familial, or community-related.
"This tradition began soon after Mayor Uy assumed office, reflecting his commitment to engaging directly with the public," said Lumbatan.
In addition to 'People's Day,' Mayor Uy also organizes 'Klarex nga serbisyo sa baryo' every Saturday, including community events like 'Kasalan ng Bayan' in various barangays.
These outreach efforts exemplify Mayor Uy's vision of bringing governance closer to the people, fostering a sense of connection and inclusivity within the city.
Both programs align with Mayor Uy's comprehensive RISE agenda, which focuses on Regional Leadership, Institutional Development, Safety, Security, Human Development, and Economic Recovery.
Lumbatan said that by prioritizing these pillars, Mayor Uy aims to enhance the quality and accessibility of services provided by the City Hall, ultimately improving the lives of Cagayan de Oro residents.
Lumbatan emphasized Mayor Uy's unwavering dedication to elevating the standard of service delivery in Cagayan de Oro.
She added that the 'Seal of Good Local Governance' program serves as a testament to Mayor Uy's commitment to excellence, with service enhancement standing as a central tenet of his governance philosophy.
Through initiatives like 'People's Day' and 'Klarex nga serbisyo sa baryo,' Mayor Uy continues to uphold a people-centered approach to governance, promoting transparency, accountability, and community engagement.
