A 23-year-old laborer who is facing a carnapping case is now languishing in jail in Bukidnon after his arrest at 9 am yesterday.
Police Provincial Director Restituto Lacano, Jr., identified the suspect as Mamara Pilong, a single, laborer, and resident of Sitio Spring, Barangay Kawayan, San Fernando of the said province.
The suspect has been tagged as 2nd most wanted person in the municipality.
Personnel assigned at San Fernando Municipal Police Station, together with Bukidnon police, jointly conducted a police operation at Purok 1, Barangay Kalagangan, San Fernando of the said province.
The arresting team was armed with a warrant of arrest dated January 6, 2023, for the crime of the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016 (R.A. 10883).
A court Judge allowed the suspect to put up a bail bond of P 300,000.00 for the latter's temporary freedom.
The arrested person is now under the custody of San Fernando police for documentation and proper disposition.
