THERE was no recommended bail bond for a 21-year-old laborer in Bukidnon who was arrested by authorities yesterday for statutory rape, a heinous crime in the country.
The suspect was identified as Jessie Bacallan, single, and a resident of Zone 18, Menzi, Barangay Damilag, Manolo Fortich of the said province.
Statutory rape is a non-forcible sexual activity in which one of the individuals is below the age of consent which is 12 to 16 years old.
Bukidnon Provincial Police Director Jun Mark Lagare said, the suspect, who is also the third most wanted person in the said town, was arrested by personnel assigned at Manolo Fortich Municipal Police Station led by Police Major Carlito Chua, Jr., together with Bukidnon Provincial Intelligence Unit at 7:40 pm by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Jeanne Marie Abarrientos of the Regional Trial Court 10-Branch 11, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon dated June 14, 2022.
Bacallan was brought to Manolo Fortich police custodial facility for proper disposition.
