MACASANDIG Boulevard will open to light private vehicles starting at 2 pm on November 12, following Executive Order No. 446-2024 issued by Mayor Rolando Uy.

According to a statement from City Information Officer Ian Fuentes, private vehicles, including taxis, will be allowed to access the boulevard under the oversight of the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA).

Engr. Nonito Oclarit, RTA Department Manager, clarified that the boulevard’s opening is limited to certain vehicle types.

Public utility vehicles (PUVs), as well as heavy trucks over 4,500 kilograms, motorized pedicabs, tricabs, bicycles, pushcarts, food carts, roller skates, and skateboards, are prohibited from using the road.

The restriction on PUVs aligns with guidance from Atty. Jose Eduardo ‘Egay’ Uy, Chairman of the Rio Verde Boulevard Management Committee, who advised against their use of Macasandig Boulevard to reduce congestion and maintain safety.
