THE Mambajao devotional town fiesta, which is now in its 168th year, officially began yesterday, September 1, in Mambajao, Camiguin.
This grand celebration will bring ten exciting days of entertainment, cultural enrichment, and enjoyment for the people of Camiguin.
The festivities kicked off with a fantastic lineup of activities that united the community in a spirit of unity and celebration.
The first day of the festival featured a variety of activities that catered to different interests.

Sports enthusiasts had the chance to showcase their skills in friendly competitions, while food lovers indulged in the delicious offerings at the food bazaar.
The novena and mass added a spiritual touch to the celebrations, emphasizing the importance of faith and community.
One of the highlights of the day was the highly anticipated mob dance competition for high school students, where talented young dancers amazed the crowd with their synchronized moves and vibrant performances.
Tupsan National High School emerged as the winner of the competition, followed by Fatima College of Camiguin, Yumbing National High School, and Mambajao National High School.
The evening continued with the LGU Mambajao Night, which showcased the talents of the local government units' personnel, as well as the Miss Mambajao candidates.
The night ended with a lively party and jam featuring Scanner and Tropang Vibes Band.
Mayor Yñigo Jesus Romualdo expressed his excitement for the town fiesta and the careful planning that went into creating the event's program.
He emphasized that the aim was to ensure that everyone, regardless of age or background, could participate in the festivities and experience the joy of the Mambajao town fiesta.
"We thought about these activities for a long time because we want everyone to join, everyone to have fun, everyone from all ages in all barangays that when they come here," said Romualdo adding that they will feel the excitement of the fiesta, and I think we got it, got it we do, and I'm thankful and proud of our team that helps, really thinks about these activities.
As the Mambajao town fiesta continues, both residents and visitors can eagerly anticipate a diverse range of events that celebrate the rich culture, traditions, and sense of community in Camiguin.
