A 41-year-old resident of Barangay Kiliog, Libona, Bukidnon was arrested during a joint police buy-bust operation against illegal firearms on Tuesday night, August 25.
Local authorities identified the suspect as Rodel Gaabucayan y Dalaguiedo, an unemployed married resident of Zone 2B.
Officer-In-Charge PLt Colonel Erwin James Tabequero said the intelligence-driven sting was executed around 9:50 PM by personnel from the Libona Municipal Police Station alongside the Bukidnon 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) and the Bukidnon Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU).
The operation was part of the police force's ongoing campaign against loose firearms (SACLEO) in the province, accirding to Tabequero.
Police officers successfully arrested the suspect at Zone 2B after he engaged in the illegal transaction.
Charges for violating Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) are currently being prepared against him, said Tabequero.
