MEDINA, Misamis Oriental — Learners of Medina National Comprehensive High School (MNCHS) brought home multiple awards from the 2026 Division Schools Press Conference, including top finishes in television, radio and individual campus journalism categories.
The school recognized the winning learners and their coaches during the opening program of MNCHS Sportslympics 2026 on Sept. 8.
The division press conference was held Sept. 3 to 5 at Misamis Oriental General Comprehensive High School in Cagayan de Oro City.
MNCHS posted its strongest results in TV Scriptwriting and Broadcasting (English), where its team won first place in Best TV Production, Best Technical Application and Best Newscast.
The team also placed second in Best Developmental Communication.
Individually, Shane Ross Andos won first place as Best TV Anchor, while Devon Mae F. Examen placed first as Best Reporter. Katrina Jean N. Ucat placed second and Christine Faith B. De Roque third in the same category.
The English TV team was composed of Andos, Lezanderf O. Luz, Examen, De Roque, Ucat, Perseius Mark O. Caperal and Rian Chrisbert T. Castillo. It was coached by Kris Jean Nizaontu Aldinn B. Edulsa.
The school also performed strongly in Radio Scriptwriting and Broadcasting (English), placing fourth in the overall radio production competition.
Mary Elisha R. Ala-an placed second as Best Anchor, while Odran Noel V. Sanico placed third as Best News Presenter and Khloe Gem D. Gabia fourth.
The radio team also won first place in Best Technical Application and third place in Best Infomercial. The team members were Aron Ynico Macapayad, Althea B. Marzado, Ala-an, Audrina L. Odchigue, Sanico, Gabia and Andrei Jhoselle B. Longjas.
The team was coached by Ranell C. Fernandez and Rodelyn Z. Lago.
In TV Scriptwriting and Broadcasting (Filipino), MNCHS placed second in Best TV Production, along with second-place finishes in Best Technical Application and Best Developmental Communication. The team also placed fourth in Best Newscast.
Nino Miguel Lorejo Limbas and Samantha Macamay Dagoc placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in Best Anchor.
The Filipino TV team also included Mara Janic Saraban Kaamino, Samantha Jocel Casing Anciano, Krissia Carr Opiso Wabe, Andrei Stephen Llauderes Rubin and Najma Sultan Macud.
In other individual categories, Mark Sulilawan won first place in Kartong Editoryal (Filipino).
Mikhail Gavril A. Achas placed fifth in Editorial Writing (English), Reyka Jean V. Abes fourth in Pagsulat ng Balita (Filipino), and Zohan Exod G. Dalit fifth in Pagsulat ng Agham at Teknolohiya.
In Radio Broadcasting and Scriptwriting (Filipino), the MNCHS team placed fifth in Best Script.
The team was composed of Alexa Star B. Cardenas, Jay Rholde O. Hugo, Stephany Lane A. Dagani, Raphsody Mei L. Bacabis, Eari D. Babanto, Sarrah Mae B. Apag and Princess Danica R. Bucio.
The team was coached by Sunny Christopher C. Mauna and Rica C. Anaya.
The awards highlight MNCHS learners’ growing skills in journalism, broadcasting and multimedia storytelling, as they represented the school at the division-level competition.
