THE provincial government here inaugurated a new isolation facility to contain the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID)-19, July 28.
The blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony were led by Misamis Occidental Governor Philip Tan, Provincial Sangguniang Board Members headed by Vice Governor Aurora Virginia Almonte, and other national line agencies at New MOPH Compound, Barangay Talairon, Oroquieta City.
The 32 isolation rooms are equipped with flat-screen TVs, cable, air conditioning, wifi connection, water dispenser, towel, pillow, linen and blanket, essential kit, mug, spoon, and fork, and CR with toilet and bath. Such will accommodate mild and asymptomatic COVID-19 patients.
The isolation facility also offers free testing for individuals who yield positive IGM or positive swabbing results.
There are five essential containers in the isolation facility, which include the female dormitory, male dormitory, admissions room, and donning room, swabbing room, and doffing room and stock room.
During the Gov's time, Governor Philip Tan said, “As a contribution and dedication of frontliners, the Province of Misamis Occidental inaugurated new isolation rooms called Project Haven, a place for comfort, a place that you are secure and to top it all, this place represents how Misamis Occidental and the provincial government take care of people from all walks of life, rich or poor."
Tan added that COVID-19 has made the local government personnel strong, mature, and dedicated to service.
"We have experienced a lot of problems and cases that we have never encountered before. That's how resilient and creative our department heads, sanggunian, and frontliners are in solving this problem," Tan said.
He also urges the frontliners to be empowered and to live in a safe and secure environment amid the health crisis.
"We have tested around 6,500 more locally stranded individuals and returning overseas Filipinos just to make our province safe and secure," Tan added.
