MISAMIS Oriental is gearing up for the expected influx of devotees during Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday.

Provincial Administrator John Venice Ladaga said on Monday, April 14, that the province has coordinated with the Philippine National Police (PNP) in all municipalities, including Gingoog City and El Salvador City.

The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices have also been tapped for support.

“Nag-coordinate na ta sa PDRRMO nga magbutang na ug mga personnel sa mga areas nga kung asa ang mga baga nga doot sa katawhan nga muanha diha aron magselebrar ug maghinuklog sa Semana Santa,” Ladaga said.

Ladaga added that he hopes the Holy Week will bring peace and reflection to the faithful, echoing sentiments previously expressed by Misamis Oriental Gov. Peter Unabia.

“Atong ipatigbabaw ang pagkamatarong ug likayan nato pagbuhat sukwahi sa mga pulong sa Labawng Makagagahom,” he said.

Ladaga also emphasized that the provincial government remains committed to improving Misamis Oriental in the years ahead.

Meanwhile, in observance of Holy Wednesday, all government offices will suspend work at 12 noon today, as announced by Malacañang under Memorandum Circular No. 81, to allow state employees to travel to their respective provinces for Holy Week.
