Medina, Misamis Oriental — Sangguniang Kabataan officials must learn how to use their fund allocation independently, Board Member Kerwin Jess Soldevilla said during the one-day training on the guidelines on the appropriation, release, planning, and budgetting process for the SK funds held here, yesterday.
Soldevilla, SK Provincial Federation president, said as he was happy that many SK members attended the training as it gives SK officials opportunity to learn more on how to use their funds in each barangay.
“Important arun matabangan sila (SK members) mahimong financially independent as mandated through RA 10742 o ang SK Reform Act of 2015,” Soldevilla said.
At least 700 SK members coming from several barangays in the 1st District of Misamis Oriental attended the training.
Provincial Board Member President Elipe authored the guidelines Resolution No. 56-2019 or the SK Empowerment Funds.
“The resolution allocates P50 thousand for each barangay every year as counterpart of the province through the effort and initiative of Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano,” said Provincial Board member Wayne Militante.
In a texted message, Emano expressed his gratitude to SK Federation President Soldevilla for initiating the training.
“Kini nga training dako kaayog ikatabang sa atong mga kabataan labi na sakop sa Sangguniang Kabataan sa atong lalawigan kung unsaon pag gamit sa ilang pundo,”Emano’s text message reads.
