ILIGAN City — Looking for food, local products, and entertainment during the Diyandi Festival? The Mugna Fiesta Park is now open at its new venue in Ludo Ground, Bayug, Hinaplabon. 

The fiesta park officially opened September 2, bringing together food vendors, local entrepreneurs, artists, performers, and families as Iligan kicked off its month-long Diyandi Festival celebration. 

Senior Tourism Officer Shayma Daison said “Mugna,” which means “to create,” is designed to create not only memories but also opportunities for local businesses and artists. 

“Mag mugna-mugna ta,” Daison said, encouraging Iliganons to enjoy the park while supporting local entrepreneurs and talents. 

She said Mugna has also become part of the Diyandi experience for generations of Iliganons, especially families who have grown up associating the festival with the fiesta park. 

But beyond entertainment, Diyandi Festival 2026 Executive Management Board Chair Atty. Riezyl Reen Angas said Mugna can help local families and businesses amid rising prices and household expenses. 

“Mugna is more than entertainment,” Angas said, pointing to its role in generating income for vendors, food stall owners, micro, small and medium enterprises, transport operators, suppliers and workers. 

He urged visitors to buy local products and patronize food stalls at the park. 

“Every peso spent with a local entrepreneur is economic activity that ultimately finds its way back to an Iliganon family,” Angas said. 

He added that this year's celebration aims to recognize the economic realities residents face while continuing to provide opportunities for the community. 

“We celebrate not because we are ignoring our problems. We celebrate because despite our problems, Iligan continues to move, people continue to work, and our community continues to rise,” Angas said. 

Meanwhile, Ralph Oblenda, head of Mugna Fiesta Park 2026, described the venue as a showcase of Iliganons’ creativity, talent, hard work, and entrepreneurial spirit. 

He thanked city officials, councilors, stall owners, stakeholders, sponsors, performers, organizers, and others who helped make this year's Mugna possible. 

With its new location, Mugna Fiesta Park is expected to remain a major gathering place throughout the Diyandi Festival, giving residents and visitors a place to enjoy local food and products while helping support Iligan businesses and workers. 

For Iliganons, the park offers more than a place to celebrate—it is also an opportunity to eat local, buy local, and help local livelihoods grow.
