FOR illegal possession of a firearm and explosive, an unruly person who is also a murder suspect in Malaybalay City was arrested by authorities yesterday morning.

Police Col. Jun Mark Lagare, Bukidnon Provincial Police Director, identified the suspect as Ryle John Villasan, legal age, single, and a resident of San Roque, Barangay Sinanglanan of the said city.

He was arrested by personnel assigned at Malaybalay City Police Station led by
Police Col. Ritchie Salva at about 3:30 am while at Barangay Sinanglanan of the said city.

Confiscated from the suspect were a homemade .45 caliber pistol with two live bullets, and an MK2 hand fragmentation grenade.

According to a police report, prior to the arrest, the said police station had received a call via a hotline that a commotion occurred at the house of Barangay Councilor Jimmy Batoanon located at Sitio Malapgap of the said barangay.

Immediately, policemen at the said headquarter proceeded to the area only to be met by Barangay Chairman Nono Aldeguer together with duty Barangay police who turned over to them the suspect.

Upon further verification, it was discovered that Villasan has a standing warrant of arrest for murder docketed under criminal case number 36358-21 issued by Judge Wilfredo Bibera, Jr. of the Regional Trial Court 10 (RTC), Branch 46 dated January 26, 2022.

The suspect is currently detained at the mini-cell of the said police station awaiting the filing of a criminal complaint.
