AS the rainy season continues, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) today, July 22, issued a stern warning to the public about ongoing scam activities targeting unsuspecting individuals.
In a post on her Facebook account, Mae Roselle L. Curiano, NGCP’s Government Relations and Regional Affairs Lead Specialist, emphasized the importance of remaining alert and cautious during this vulnerable period.
“Scammers are always active, especially during the rainy season when many people are preoccupied or distracted,” Curiano warned.
She urged everyone to be vigilant and to recognize the common tactics used by these fraudsters.
Curiano provided key tips to avoid falling victim to scams, including:
Verify who you're dealing with and always check the legitimacy of the person or organization contacting you.
Beware of pressure and distractions: Scammers often create a sense of urgency to manipulate victims into making hasty decisions.
Protect your personal information: Never share sensitive details unless you are certain of the recipient’s identity.
She also clarified NGCP’s official communication channels, emphasizing that all legitimate job offers are made solely through NGCP Careers via talentsourcing@ngcp.ph.
“NGCP will never ask for payment or fees at any stage of the application process,” she stated.
Curiano further emphasized that if someone asks for money claiming to be from NGCP, it is a clear scam.
“Please report it immediately,” she urged.
The company encourages the public to stay smart, stay sharp, and report any suspicious activity to authorities or NGCP’s official channels.
“Don’t let scammers win this rainy season. Stay informed, stay safe,” Curiano concluded.
