WHEN I bought a ticket for “Nobody 2,” the cinema ticket counter sales staff actually sang “nobody, nobody but you.” Or should that be, nobody, nobody but two? Haha.

High expectation led to disappointment for “The Naked Gun.” So, I watched “Nobody 2” to see if my movie-rating skill is still at par with that of Rotten Tomatoes.

I didn’t even know there’s a “Nobody 2.” No publicity. No real love life between the two main stars Bob Odenkirk and Connie Nielsen who play a married couple in the movie. No TV and social-media interviews. Unless it did have a marketing strategy that somehow didn’t reach clueless me. And — surprise! surprise! — it has Sharon Stone and Colin Hanks as the villains, and Christopher Lloyd as the hero’s father.

If you were not born yet when Stone and Lloyd were popular, she starred in the 1992 movie “Basic Instinct,” and he was in the “Back to the Future” trilogy.

Hanks is Tom’s son.

So, yes, “Nobody 2” was worth the travel from uptown to downtown and vice versa.

I didn’t know about the first “Nobody,” though. It was released in 2021 and I now wonder why I had not heard about it then. But I’m sure it was worth watching, too.

And here I am now, with my LSS — last song syndrome: “I love you more today than yesterday/But not as much as tomorrow.” Which I guess is the movie’s theme song.

But the real reason I was at the downtown mall was I missed Hap Chan’s sweet and sour pork and shrimp with scrambled egg. Which I could devour in, hmmm, 30 minutes. Hap Chan’s new wait staff, who’s not familiar with my eating habits yet, was looking at me like, She’s eating all that?!

Having brunch at Hap Chan before or after watching a movie used to be my hard habit to break months ago.

But when there’s not much time to sit and eat before or after a movie, I’d order the cinema’s hotdog bites which have been out of stock lately. Thus, when I watched “The Naked Gun,” I was forced to go OMAD — one meal a day — due to no hotdog bites again, and chose to have dinner at home.

Considering the time required in traveling from uptown to downtown, plus the length of the movie, the windowshopping, and the traffic in going back home, the unplanned OMAD was kind of testing how long I could function while continuing my fast after gym. This was the first time for me to do this, and my blood pressure did complain later perhaps due to the stress of having an empty tummy.

That OMAD resulted to more than 24 hours of fasting. Whew. The low-carb advice is to exercise while in the fasting window and to eat right after gym.

I’m always rushing to and from a movie, afraid to be late before, and afraid to be stuck in traffic after. That’s why my one big wish is for SM City CDO Uptown to have a Director’s Club already. I can dream, can’t I?
