Normin peace and order body sends medical teams to Marawi

MAYOR Oscar Moreno, chairman of the nothern Mindanao Peace and Order Council has deployed medical personnel and a rescue team to Marawi City.
Moreno said the medical and rescue teams will be headed by retired Col. Mario Verner Monsanto, city hall’s disaster and risk reduction management consultant.
He said the National Disaster Risk Management Council specifically requested for Monsanto to lead the National Incident Management Team in Marawi City for his expertise.
“Wala kita magmakuli paghatag tabang diretso kay lagi their problem is also our problem,” Moreno said.
He said aside from the medical and rescue teams, he has also deployed the city’s ambulance and rescue vehicles.
At the Capitol, Misamis Oriental Yevgeny Vincente Emano said he has deployed two dump trucks to Iligan City.
Emano added the two dump trucks have been loaded with more 300 thousand food packs for the evacuees in Marawi and Iligan cities.
“There will be more assistance coming from the provincial government to the evacuees to help them survive while they’re staying at the evacuation centers, especially food, water, and medicine,” Emano said.
