“MAJORITY of Filipinos in northern Mindanao are satisfied with the military’s performance and have much confidence in its capability to defeat security threats.”
Thus said Army’s 4th Infantry Division public affairs chief Major Rodulfo Cordero on Sunday.
Cordero said a regionwide public opinion survey was shown during the Northern Mindanao Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC 10) meeting held on September 3.
“For all 4ID’s services that aimed to ensure peace and security, and facilitate the delivery of government services in conflict-affected and geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas,” said Cordero.
The survey was conducted from June 22 to August 15, 2020 with 1,471 respondents funded by the Central Mindanao University, according to Cordero.
Of the survey’s 1,471 respondents from Region 10, particularly areas of two Army Divisions (4ID & 1ID), said they were satisfied with the 4ID performance.
“4ID gets a “very satisfied” rating on the latest Client Satisfaction Survey (CSC) conducted by the Northern Bukidnon Community College (NBCC) in Region 10," Cordero said.
Research team head Dr. Catherine Roween C Almaden presented the survey result during the meeting held at Pearlmont Hotel, Cagayan de Oro on Thursday last week.
Almaden reported that 4ID received an average rating of 4 with 5 being the highest or “Very Satisfied” from the people of Region 10 for all its services.
“The people are particularly grateful to 4ID and its operationally controlled units for their services rendered to the people especially in maintaining peace and security in the communities,” said Almaden.
Almaden added by facilitating the delivery of the needed services such as medical and dental services, livelihood, infrastructure, education, health, personal services and disaster preparedness, she said.
Cabinet Officer for Regional Development and Security for Northern Mindanao Communication Secretary Martin Andanar who presided the meeting, commended the 4ID and all its soldiers for doing a great job.
“To Major General Centino, you are doing a great job. May you continue to lead your forces and steer the RTF-ELCAC TWG to accomplish its mission to end the communist armed conflict in the region before the President’s term ends in 2022,” said Andanar.
The NBCC conducted the client satisfaction survey to respondents from different municipalities and cities of Northern Mindanao to determine their level of satisfaction on the services provided by 4ID and Army’s 1st Infantry Division (1ID). (Ben Balce)
