CAGAYAN de Oro City — More than 7,000 police personnel and force multipliers will be deployed across Northern Mindanao from Oct. 30 to Nov. 2 to help keep cemetery visitors and travelers safe during Undas 2026.

Police Major Joann Navarro, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office-10 (PRO-10), said the deployment includes more than 4,000 police personnel and around 3,000 force multipliers from partner agencies.

These include the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Bureau of Fire Protection and Philippine Coast Guard.

Navarro reminded the public that bringing knives, other weapons and alcoholic beverages into cemeteries is prohibited during the observance.

Keep children close, belongings secure

PRO-10 urged families visiting cemeteries to keep children within sight, bring drinking water and protection from the heat, and secure their valuables.

Visitors were also advised to follow cemetery rules, plan their routes, locate exits and use candles safely. They should avoid bringing other prohibited items and seek help immediately when needed.

Parents and guardians were reminded to act quickly if a child goes missing in a cemetery.

They should check nearby areas, report the incident to the nearest Police Assistance Desk or cemetery authorities, and provide a recent photo and identifying details of the child.

For assistance, the public may contact the PRO-10 Regional Community Affairs and Development Division at 0915-303-3072.

For emergencies, call 911 or proceed to the nearest police station.

PRO-10 also encouraged residents to share safety reminders with their communities to help prevent incidents during the Undas period.
