CITY Council's trade and commerce committee chair Councilor George Goking on Wednesday expressed optimism of a still healthy business climate here following records increase in applications for permit renewal amid the pandemic.
“At this time of pandemic, still healthy business climate here in the city following a turnout of businesses applying for annual renewal of their permits,” said Goking.
The city finance according to Goking have processed 10,088 business permits as of January 25 this year, compared to 8,591 in the same period last year.
“There are also 482 new businesses registered,” said Goking adding that the this year's renewed business permits is 17.04% higher than last year record.
He said business permit renewal will resume on February 28, after the city council approved the deadline, and asked establishments to renew soon to avoid paying the fine.
Goking reminded traders that they may also use online business permit renewal platform: services.cagayandeoro.ph.gov/bponline, in order to avoid crowd sale.
Goking added that the process in business permit renewal was orderly despite the challenges brought by the pandemic.
In addition, the satellite business registration center in SM Downtown Premier will also be opening from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday. (Ben Balce)
