CAGAYAN de Oro’s City Health Office has declared that there has been a drastic drop in the number of persons under monitoring during today’s press briefing at the city hall.
However, CHO chief Dr. Lorraine Nery added that residents should not be complacent.
Nery said that from 1,331 cases, there are only 30 PUMs in different barangays of the city and the number of persons under investigation at three who are still on self-quarantine.
“Dili lang gihapon ‘ta magkumpyansa,” she told reporters this morning.
Nery said their health teams are still going house-to-house in the city’s 80 barangays.
“Basin naa pa’y nabilin nga wala pa nahibal-an nga naay exposure sa PUI or PUM. Para kini masusi pud inyong (residents) health status kun PUI o PUM kamo,” she said.
She said their teams are looking for residents who have an influenza-like illness. But Nery assured that they will not be tagged as either PUM or PUI right away.
“Hangyo lang mi nga kung makabisita atong team sa inyong balay, tubag lang ‘ta honestly sa mga questions,” Nery pleaded.
They will undergo an assessment by their barangay health professional.
“Tagaan og medicine ang mga naay influenza-like illness. Ayaw mo kahadlok mu present sa travel histories ug posible nga exposure sa mga PUI o PUM,” Nery said.
In another development, Nery announced that there are already 72 barangay isolation units that are ready to accommodate PUMs who cannot implement social distancing at their homes because of space constraints. (Cong B. Corrales)
