Vice Governor Jeremy Jonahmar Pelaez lauded Misamis Oriental Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano on his response to the call of City Mayor Oscar Moreno to unite and leave politics behind.
In an interview, Pelaez said the cooperation of every one is a must if the province and the city stop the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus.
"Our province should work hand in hand with the city government of Cagayan de Oro for us to closely monitor and be in control of this difficult situation," Pelaez said.
For his part, Board Member Gerardo Sabal, III said that before the province and the city come up with a general plan for a joint community quaranting officials of both local governments should be prepared in all aspects.
Sabal said that Emano is willing to help the city but Mayor Oscar Moreno should first see to it that the city is ready and prepared.
"Nag-ingon siya (Emano) ready siya mutabang kay again this is beyond politics," Sabal said.
And to declare a province-wide quarantine is something to be agreed upon by everybody.
"Unsaon pagkabuhi sa tawo kung mag province-wide (quarantine) 'ta," Sabal rhetorically asked.
Sabal added that they should see to it that before implementing the joint community quarantine that they're prepared in all the steps to be taken.
