A 45-year-old unemployed person who was charged 16 years ago for cultivating plants considered to be illegal drugs, was arrested by authorities over the weekend.
Police Col. Jun Mark Lagare, Bukidnon Provincial Police Director, identified the suspect as Joey Demetrio, married, and a resident of Camp Phillips, Barangay Agusan Canyon, Manolo Fortich of the said province.
He was nabbed by police personnel at Manolo Fortich Municipal Police Station led by Police Maj. Carlito Chua, Jr., and Bukidnon Provincial Intelligence Unit by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Jose Yamut, Sr., Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court, Branch 11, 10th Judicial Region, Manolo Fortich dated May 4, 2006.
Demetrio violated Sec.16, Art II, or the cultivation or cultured of plants classified as dangerous drugs.
The Judge disallowed the suspect to post a bail bond for his supposed temporary liberty.
He is now under the custody of Manolo police.
