A SENIOR citizen was arrested for sexually abusing an eight-year-old neighbor many times in one of the barangays in Cagayan de Oro City.
Police Maj. Julius Saluta, Police Station 2 commander, said the 60-year-old suspect and a bystander were arrested inside his residence at Ramonal village, Barangay Camaman-an yesterday at about 4 pm.
“Matud pa sa mama sa biktima galugoson lage daw iyang anak sa maong silingan hilabi nag hubog siya didto sa likod sa ilang balay,” Saluta said.
It was also learned that the abuse had been happening several times already every time the child will take a bath.
The arrest came after neighbors had reported the incident to the victim’s mother who in turn told the police.
The suspect is now behind bars at the said police station awaiting the filing of a statutory rape case.
