By NITZ ARANCON Correspondent POLICE yesterday pressed charges against a 24-year old man accused of murdering a woman and her child in Zone 7,  Sitio Malasag, Barangay Cugman on Tuesday night. The suspect, Richard  Pasamonte, was arrested shortly after the murders, and then charged by authorities with double murder and robbery before the City Prosecutor’s Office at 2 pm yesterday. Police said Pasamonte, repeatedly stabbed 34-year old Rufina Labininay and her boy Niel Steven in their Cugman home, and then fled with her bag that had money in it. Chief Insp. Evan Viñas, Cugman police  station commander, said the suspect has had too much alcohol that night and was high on drugs when he allegedly murdered the Labininays. Pasamonte was caught by the police in the bushes in Sitio Mapawa near the boundaries of Cugman and Libona in Bukidnon. Viñas said witnesses have come forward and pointed to Pasamonte as the man who stabbed to death the 34-year old mother and her three-year old son Niel Steven at around 6:45 pm Tuesday. He said Pasamonte was having intoxicating drinks with Labininay’s husband Nelson earlier. Viñas said Nelson left Pasamonte in his house alone in order to buy food. He said the wife arrived in the house from work with her child at the time when Nelson was out. Viñas said Pasamonte  was apparently after of Labininay’s money in her shoulder bag. During interrogation,  Pasamonte confessed to killing the woman and her child, according to Viñas. “Nangit-ngit kuno iyang panan-aw kay hubog man ug sabug pa gyud sa illegal drugs,”  Viñas said.
