POLICE on Wednesday arrested two suspects in a series of robbery cases in the city during an operation in Puerto, this city. Senior Insp. Harvey Abellanosa, the leader of the police team, identified the suspects as brothers Jay-ar and Junmar Cabonegro, 21 and 28 years old, respectively. Abellanosa said the suspects were caught in the act of using suspected shabu at Purok 5 in Barangay Puerto. Police seized from the suspects some P30 thousand worth of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia, P5 thousand in cash believed to be stolen, and a 13-inch knife. Abellanosa said Cabonegro brothers are suspects in a number of heists carried out in the city.
