MISAMIS Oriental Provincial Police vowed today, January 13, to solve the murder of 19-year-old Lady Grace Galo within the week, as additional investigators were deployed to speed up the probe.
Police Col. Wilbur Salaguste, provincial police director, said three persons of interest have been identified in connection with the killing of Galo, a second-year Business Administration student at Tagoloan Community College and a church volunteer.
Galo was found stabbed to death inside her home in Dinogon, Barangay Sta. Ana, Tagoloan, on Jan. 10, sparking public outrage in the community.
“Kagahapon (January 12) atong gibalikan ang area ug aduna kita’y dugang nga pieces of evidence nakuha,” said Salaguste.
“Naa pa ‘tay in-depth nga investigation pagahimoon. Daghan nakita nato (nga) anggulo sa kaso hopefully within this week o within today ato nang ma file ang kaso,” Salaguste added.
Salaguste stressed that the investigation is being expedited not only because the victim was a woman but also because of the brutal nature of the crime.
He described the killing as an “immoral act” but assured the public that it was an isolated case.
“For sure, naa ‘tay update today or tomorrow sa progress sa mao nga kaso,” he added, pointing out the commitment to bring the perpetrator to justice.
