AUTHORITIES arrested Tuesday a 29-year-old rape suspect.
Police Col. Dominador Estrada, Iligan City Police Director, identified the suspect as Edgar John Cañete, unemployed, and a resident of Purok Manuang, Barangay Tubod of the said city.
Cañete, who was tagged by police as the number 2 most wanted person at the station level, was arrested at Don Pedro Celdran Ave., Barangay Tubod at 1:45 pm.
During the arrest authorities assigned to the Iligan police station tracker team, together with Regional Special Operating Unit were armed with a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Anisah Amanodin-Umpa of the Regional Trial Court-Branch 2, Iligan City.
Umpa recommended the suspect a P200,000-bail bond for the suspect’s temporary liberty.
The suspect is currently under the custody of Iligan police for proper disposition and documentation.
