A 39-year-old fish vendor in Bukidnon was arrested in connection with a rape case, over the weekend.
Police Col. Jun Mark Lagare, Bukidnon Provincial police director, identified the suspect as Albert Paquit, married, and a resident at Purok Maligaya, Salawagan, Quezon of the said province.
A joint team from Quezon and Manolo Fortich Municipal Police Stations together with the 2nd Bukidnon Mobile Force Company and 1003rd Regional Mobile Force Battalion-10 arrested the suspect at his residence at 2:30 pm.
The arresting personnel was armed with an arrest warrant issued by Judge Francisco Lloren Sr of the Reginal Trial Court-Branch 11, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon dated November 9, 2005.
Due to the gravity of the offense, Lloren did not allow the suspect to post bail for his temporary liberty.
The suspect is currently under the custody of Quezon police for proper disposition.
