BARANGAY Cuña in Sagay, Camiguin is now ready for the next phases of the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) framework, after Camiguin’s interior and local government department led the launching early last week.
The Sagay town has officially launched the RCSP in Barangay Cuña as pilot and the convergence area during an orientation and launching ceremony on August 13.
The launching program aims to introduce to all stakeholders in the barangay the RCSP implementation and identify governance and development gaps for intervention by national government agencies (NGAs).
DILG provincial director Rhona Pedraza-Abadilla said RCSP is a convergence mechanism for LGUs particularly in the barangay for the identification of issues and needed government interventions.
“Barangay Cuña is now ready for the next phases, with the set of upcoming activities,”said Abadilla.
With this, Abadilla emphasized the need to bridge the gap of the government and the community.
DILG-10 Regional Director Arnel M. Agabe said the launching of RCSP is bringing the government and good governance right to the doorstep of the people in Camiguin.
“We commend the efforts of our partner agencies for being with us in this undertaking,” said Agabe.
“We are positive that the community of Barangay Cuña will help us in exemplifying the outcome of having a government that is for the people and with the people,” said Agabe.
Aside from orienting the community on the RCSP, a focused group discussion was also facilitated by DILG Camiguin Program Manager Jay Niel C. Anasco.
Representatives from Barangay Cuña and the basic sectors participated in discussing issues and concerns in areas of infrastructure, social services, economic, environment and governance.
Representatives from the provincial government and national agencies pledged their commitments.
